The Black Panther Movie Script
“Black Panther” is a visually stunning marvel with a stellar cast that elevates an uninspired script. The film follows the newly crowned king and superhero T’Challa as he returns home to Wakanda and is thrust into conflict with a foe who threatens his homeland.
- As for what sets the Call of Duty franchise and a future Call of Duty movie apart from a seminal film like Black Hawk Down, Sollima said, “It’s going to be completely different. I think the trickiest part in doing a movie from a video game is that you’re doing a movie from a video game.
- When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. Agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
Activision Blizzard Studios has hired Joe Robert Cole to write the sequel to the Call of Duty film, according to Variety. Cole is known for his writing in Black Panther alongside Ryan Coogler.
It was announced last February that director of Sicario 2: Soldado, Stefano Sollima, would be helming the film.
Presidents of Activision Blizzard Studios, Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk will be producing, as well as Activision Blizzard chief executive Bobby Kotick and Coco Francini.
The formation of Activision Blizzard Studios was announced back in 2015 with the reason being to focus on films and TV series for the studio, with former Disney executive Dyk as co-president, and Sher being announced shortly after. The studio's first project was geared around Call of Duty, creating 'a robust cinematic universe,' with an expected arrival time coming this year or in 2019.
Last year, Sher said in an interview that many years of films have been planned out for a Call of Duty cinematic universe.
'We have plotted out many years,' Sher said. '... There’ll be a film that feels more like Black Ops, the story behind the story. The Modern Warfare series looks at what it’s like to fight a war with the eyes of the world on you. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on.'
Few details have been released on the plot of the film, except that it is an adaptation of the widely popular Call of Duty franchise. A cast is yet to be decided, but the studio wants a script ready for the sequel as soon as the film goes into production next year.
